Child Life Volunteer, Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital

Baltimore, MD (August 2015 - Present)

Initiate conversations with patients on the Pediatric Intensive Care unit (PICU) inviting them to play bingo or engage in activities
Hold and engage infants in play or stimulating activities to prevent regression
Comfort parents and patients through provision of distraction activities and events during their stay

University Park, Pa (April 2013 - May 2014)

Selected and oversaw 34 Captains and 1600 Committee Members to maintain and communicate security infrastructure of several events
Facilitated focus groups and meetings to plan, test, and finalize procedures and schedules for all events, including the entry of over 20,000 spectators at the 46 hour culmination event
Collaborated with multiple university officials to receive suggestions and approval on all plans and protocol for the event
Ensured the integrity and safety of all THON's supporters in fundraising and awareness resulting in $13.34 million raised in one fiscal year

Danville, PA (May 2011-January 2012)

Fostered relationships with patients and spent time conducting developmentally appropriate distraction activities
Cared for and fed infants during inpatient stays
Conducted activities for both individual and group patients during clinic visits
Oversaw the upkeep for both regular and neutropenic playrooms

Organized various resources for families of inpatient children, including food, beverages, and hygiene
Staffed an information desk where patients and families could request games, videos, and other activities for distraction and normalization
Monitored the upkeep of the lounge area in order to allow families an extended area for sleeping when space was not available in the patient's room
